I've had eibach on 2 audis w/ no problem, but def. get shocks done at the same time cause you're gonna be doing them eventually anyway and it'll save you the time (or $)...

Hi folks,

I'm in a similar situation and want to improve the drive of my 98 TDI avant (i'm in the UK). Not bothered by looks, but want the car to entertain, on standard suspension it is a dull dull car.

Anyway - so what is the consensue?

a) I understand Eibachs only lower by 30mm so OK to continue with standard shocks
b) H&R lower 40-60mm so new shocks required.

I'd prefer to spend as little as possible, so Eibach is my preferred option. Has anyone done this (just springs) and does it really improve the drive? or is it really just a cosmetic upgrade?

Coilovers tend to be set very hard (even at minimum) and that will be a pain in the *** (literally) on our roads....

Other thoughts are upgrated ARB up front?

Thoughts?

Has anyone managed to make a B5 drive well?

FWIW, i didn't rate the S4 much either - but I find myself with a very low mileage TDI that I want to improve.

Cheers,

Chris

ive had experience with almost all these springs, the neuspeed RACE spring has been by far the best and most responsive and improved my handling the best.

sok i voted for neuspeed

I agree - I have had lots of springs... The Neuspeed Race were awesome, though a little rough ride at times.

love the neuspeed race springs, took them off but they handled great with koni shocks, i had 2" drop on mine but my 18"s were tucked in the fender, no rubbing but i think they are lower than they say.
