Default MAF

I went to the dealer for my CEL and turned out to be my MAF. They quoted me $440.00. Has anyone used the one from ECS for $47.00? If so how did it work out.

I had an $85 remanufactured MAF installed last month. I bought it from ECSTUNING. CEL has not returned. I'm not sure about the gas mileage which is 22 mpg , using the A/C. Without the A/C , I was getting 24.8 mpg.

Jest, I agree. ECS is good. The parts we are writing about are remanufactured by VW.

Replacing the MAF is simple. The hardest part was getting the lid off the filter housing/air box.

The MAF is warranted by the dealer up to 80K, assuming u bought it from a dealer. IT has to do with emissions, thats why. When mine went bad i went and only had to pay a 50$ deductible.

Thanks... The only one I found was for 47 bucks. Is that the same one? Does anyone have a link maybe with some pictures on how to replace this, also if I change the MAF can I disconnect my battery to get rid of my CEL because I do not have a VAG.

You can disconnect the battery to remove the cell. Have your radio code. The mechanic took an hour and a half to replace the MAF. As the post above said, you have to remove the air box cover. When I replace the air filter, I can only remove 3 of the 4 clips.

So..The sensor is on the air box? There are two hoses connected to it, when I replace this there is no recalibration needed. Correct?
