MAF
Part of the sensor is covered by plastic and you wont be able to get to it by spraying at any angle (The AEB sensor is this way, the ATW is not and I dont know about the 2.8 engines.), which is why its probably best to let it soak submerged in isopropyl aclc. (better than electronics cleaner because it doesnt leave a resedue behind if you use a lot of it), and also let it dry for 24 hours or so.
the MAF is located in the air box, it's screwed in to the top. log block 003 and see the air flow, that's how I determined mine was crap
make sure you get the correct one for you engine code. if you take off your valve cover theres a little tab on the engine that says what type it is.

west2005,
How do you get Audi to cover the MAF when I have a 2000 A4 that was out of warranty at 30,000 miles. I just spent $450 with Audi before finally doing the MAF to clear my P1128 code. I only have 69,800 miles but have already bought the part and installed last Friday. How should I approach them to get reimbursed? (P.S. I also replaced my O2 sensor, all vacuum lines, broke the diverter valve trying to get the vacuum line off so had to replace that with a better updated one.) - Anyway my P1128 code went away but not till I put the new MAF in?? - Thanks Scott

The only way you might get reimbersed is if Audi or you have legit records from them diagnosing your MAF as bad and lists your mileage. You cant just show them a piece of paper that says that fault code and expect to get reimbersed.
