MAINTENANCE!
2000 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro
Hi guys, I have the A4 as stated above. Now my question is, where do you guys go to get your oil change? My oil is down to minimum when I checked it today! I am so lazy! Anyways, I called Audi, but they said two days from now. Is there anywhere else that I can take my Audi, besides like Jiffy Lube, etc. I want to know where yall get it changed, and advice on where to take my Audi. Also, what type of oil should I use? I don't have a manual, cause it didn't come with it. Thank You!

Hey duder,
I drive a 2001 2.8, and I'm running Mobil One synthetic 0w40. There are a few different schools of thought as to which grade of oil is best (10w30, etc), but generally people will tell you to go with synthetic oil and change it every 5K or so. Definitely make sure you get a good oil filter and replace it according to spec.
Personally, I'm not all that mechanically inclined (although I'm trying to learn) and knowing how to change your oil is a handy thing...that said, it can be a grimy job so I almost always end up taking it to a shop. Especially in the winter. Jiffy Lube will get the job done, but I've heard horror stories of them doing retarded things. I'd try to develop a relationship with a german import mechanic and bring it to him...unless it's too much damn money.
Here's a thread to get you started...
