Making progress, after a long rd trip
Well I finally have another motor after a long past day and a half. My and my friend left for maine in the middle of the snowstorm to pick up my motor. I left Potsdam NY after class at 3pm, and finally got to rennen motorsports (who had 14" of snow, around 11:30pm , then we drove back to Burlington Vt, and got to my friends house there around 4:15am.
We woke up at 930 and went over to Joe's house, previously from NERallysport, now he is nononsence and Audiworld, and he made is brunch! I also met Joel "rallyvermont on audiworld" and we shot the **** for a while, also nice meeting you Joel! After some quality breakfast, thanks Joe!, we collected some parts that Joe had for me, and headed home. We got home at 2:30pm and begin the install almost right away.
We had to replace both manifolds, figure out how to adapot the old powersteering pump, remove a 2.0 oil pan and vww intake manifold, as well as a different mount mount (this motor was on a vw rabbit before) as well as lots of sensors, and other hardware and wiring.
As of right now we have the motor in and bolts up, some of the wiring and some of the plumbin hooked up as well. I also switched to an obd1 vr6 throttle body which took some creativity to get to fit, but after about 5 of us looking at it, we finally came up with a perfect solution. Anyways here some pics from the past two days, and Hopefully I can get most of the rest of the work done tomorrow, but now I'm exhausted.
