Hi, I'm new here. I have a 2005 A4 1.8T with 53K miles. All of a sudden the check engine light came on, so I searched these forums and it does match some of the other posts, which is the car vibrates much more when I turn it on in idle, and when I backed out of the driveway it seemed very :rough:; almost like it was stalling. Its a stick shift, and I immediately brought it right back, so didn't get beyond second gear. From the manual it points to catlytic converter issues; from the forum posts it points to possibly a cylinder misfiring? My question is what next? Can I actually drive the car in the meantime (it's Christmas and I really need to run some errands) and if I need to take it in can I drive it to the dealer (about 15 miles of highway driving, plus 5 miles of slow roads)?
