Why would you twin turbo charge an already pretty lag free engine?

If you have to ask "how much?" then it obviously isn't the project for you. How much is costs is wholly dependent on what you're capable of doing or having done yourself. If you can do your own design, fab, and machining work required for the manifold, exhaust, and intake then you're way ahead of the game, but it's still going to require big $$$.
Besides, it's only a 1.8L. It's really not a good candidate for a twin setup. Although there is a guy that did somewhat of a "junkyard setup" of twin turbos on a 2.2 Dodge Shadow. The workmanship was nasty looking, but IIRC, he was running in the 9's with it. I think he pretty much did it dirt cheap.

For as much money as you would spend making the 1.8t twin turbo you could probablly save yourself alot of money and time by just buying the s4 2.7 twin turbo motor and try to make it fit in the 1.8t engine bay. But even still thats alot of money so just buy an S4.

Im thinking of putting the s4 bi turbo engine in my l.8t. I have 111k on it so i think im going to try and find used s4 motor with like 50k.It would still be cheaper then buying an S4 and more fun piecing it all together.

The only thing a twin turbo 1.8T would be good for is drag racing and youd have to rev to about 6K to get off the line in under a day...

It would be completely unstreetable... unless you put really tiny turbos on it
