Maybe I'm spooked.
Hey everyone, itz mee again... yay. So, my coolant light was on like last week. Was looking for G12, but I couldn't find it so I put some prestone 50/50 in the resi. The light went off, and the car drives great but when I speed I see a whitish smoke from my exhaust. I'm just curious if this whitish smoke is bad, and if I need to flush this b.s. out of my vehicle.(which I kind of don't feel like doing.) Also I wanted to know if anyone knew of a site that had shifters and shift covers that look stock for the a4. I need a new **** and I could use a cover too, but I don't want any ricer crap in my audi. 96' B5 auto, if that helps.
If I recall correctly it's a pretty bad idea to mix G12 with regular coolant. A flush is probably a really good idea.
If you do a search on this site you'll probably find some good info on coolant.

You can run green in your car for years without problems, but then the metal in the radiator is being eaten away. Get some G12 and distilled water and replace it.
I am more concerned about the low coolant and white "smoke" coming from your exhaust. I'd check your compression to make sure you don't have a blown head gasket. Also check your oil filler cap for coffee and cream coloured sludge.

I know the G12 has "anti-corrosive" properties to it, but shouldn't most coolants contain it?

From what I read on the forums, when you mix pink with green, you get jello.
