Well I been talking a lot latly about this beast of a wrx my roomate has...i thought I was gonna hafta upgrade turbos to hang with him, turns out my car is faster than I was expecting his car is slower then we expected. Hes got a modded 18g turbo with 810ccinjectors and Shiv tuned it Sun and it made 270whp, and will make around 300whp once the cat is removed. That was at 20psi, my car was at 17psi and as u can tell in the vid its very untuned, I found a vac leak yesterday which helped alittle of my rich problem, and also turned down the fuel pressure which helped.

Anyways don't get your hopes up cause the vid is pretty crappy and short, and I probably wont get anymore vids because neither me or my roomate really race on the street, once the track opens there will be better video.

That's kinda strange, you'd think he would have the advantage. The pic you posted of your turbos side by side made them seem the same size, about, and he has the displacement advantage on you. Is he intercooled? Does this mean you aren't gonna upgrade this summer?

Yea 270, ppl on his forum say with no cat and smaller injectors over 300awhp will be no problem, so we'll see, also once i get mine tuned I may be making the hp I want and then prolly wont switch turbos. He has a much bigger intercooler than me, and also his turbo flows another 110cfm than mine. You can tell he ran outta gear at the end...wrx are great for doing that

I'm sure he will eventually, im pretty sure the fuel pressure was turned down soo low or pulsewidth is turned down that the spray pattern is very poor. Also Shiv said he had to pull alot of timing down low to get it to run good, and had to make a huge MAP scale or something, and he was surprised that it would even idle.

 

pulsewidth? tell him to get a AVC-R you can adjust pulsewidth with that

 

He can adjust it with his Exede but he need to turn it down so hw doesnt run rich, however while turning it down will lean it out properly, it will not make the optimum spray pattern. He can adjust basically every map with this program, vag really need something equivalent to this

 

its called FAST. if you can afford it get it. it gets rid of the MAF and replaces it with speed density
