medal rubbing medal on take off
I getting a medal scrapping medal sound during takeoff in 1st gear. The sound is brief and only at start-up...here's the low down. Start car, let run briefly (30-60 seconds), put into reverse, back out of parking space, shift into drive (not sport mode), take off slowly and than after 20 feet a god awful mechanical rubbing sound comes from what I perceive is the front of the car. I can also feel the rubbing through the accelerator. The sound and feelling last maybe 2 seconds than I dont hear or feel anything again until I stop, turn off the car, let it rest maybe 5 mintues than repeat the above routine. I've tried taking off with the wheels straight and at an angle and the noise is the same. If anyone knows anything about this problem or have had the same issue please reply.

The car is still under warranty but I would like to enter the dealership with a better understanding of what could be the probelm. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does the ABS test happen everytime I start the car? It makes it sound like I'm driving a junker. Your reply has lead me to another question. My A4 seems to have more brake dust on the rear rims than the front. My car experience tells me that the parking brake is set too tight but I havent found any evidence to backup that claim. Hav you or anyone noticed the same accumulation on the rear rims? Could this be an issue with the ABS test?
every thing on these newer cars go through a test when the ignition is turned on and that's where the errors start check the gerarbox bolts are tight, what ever happened to standard maintenance[:@]
