Default MID ENGINE DRIVETRAIN

Hi Guys.
I'm looking for a mid engine drivetrain for my project race car, my choices are:
2000-05 A4 1.8T 2WD manual
2006-07 A4 2.0T 2WD manual
because of the north to south configuration for better weight distribution & power upgrades.

I have some questions:
Do you now if they came with limited slip differential or are there aftermarket (didn't find any).
How much horsepower is the limit for the transmission.
Is there aftermarket trans gears.
All ideas will help.

Thank you.
P.K.

That will be cool once it's finished. Is it a custom chassie?

you might want to look for something a bit older, like late 90's

an aeb motor is better for flowing
the only limisted slip is for the quattro, and is for the rear dif (2 grand from stasis)
the trans can hold a good bit, but the clutch is the weakpoint

since you arent looking for something quattro, i would use a vw drivetrain 1.8t was available in a few models

Yes it is a custom tubular chasis, that I'm designing inspired in the R10 LMP & others

For pre1999theres is a quaiffe front differential, but I'm really not sure if is for th 1.8T http://www.quaife.co.uk/Audi-A4-2WD-...B-differential
I was reading some treads in gt40.com about The model 012 5 speed is used on the V8 powered 4200lb Audi A8.
Isn't 012 also used on the A4 1.8T fwd?

Thank you guys

Use an Audi 90 for your project.

is this car completed? I have similar aspirations for my A4, but I’m building for the ChampCar Endurance Series. I believe a mid-engined, multi-link front suspension car might do well in long distance/hours of road racing. I’m also intrigued by the 01J CVT. I dare me to use it.
