Midnight test drive at Route 25
Just got my A4 3 days ago, and only put on 165 miles, and wants to know how fast can it go , no idea how fast did I shift from 0-60, but 5th shift reach to 80mpg, and 6th gear put down all the way to 122mpg, and thats as far as I go tonight! and I test drive on Route 25 in CT, fair road condition, none traffic due to midnight. From head to toe took me 6 minutes, it was a real fun.

I've been told umpteen zillion times that these types of engines need AT LEAST 500 miles of easy driving on them to get them broken in, and 1,000 miles if you have the patience.
I'm at 466 miles on my new A4 and it's killing me to not slam it home every time I press the gas, but better safe than sorry - right?
And for God sakes, keep it under 100 until you're comfortable with the car and understand how it reacts to speed, wind, road conditions, etc.

So...what speed are we looking at? untill 500miles!!!

Your driving style needs to be easy on the car until it has hit it's break-in point.
No red-lining. No slamming on the gas. No down-shifting to launch the car because the guy in the Geo Metro next to you wants to race.
4,000RPM max, shift gears smoothly, no launching from a standstill at red lights.
Once she's broken in, they can take a lot of punishment.
If you give that punishment to the car before it's ready, it will punish you right back for doing it.
Tks I'll bear that in mind, but basically I never run the rpm over 4,000 (barely...only sometimes during shifting gear from 1st to 2nd), and I am not trying to race or compete, just wanna see how far this babe can go...
Again tks, and from now on I'll pay extra attention on the red lines.

well if you wanna see how FAST it can go umm its around 135-140 when the limiter kicks in ....

Guys , plz take it easy on me, I've learned my lessons and with the regular maintainence with Audi (Which is free!!!), I assume it shouldn't be out at 25K.
But still, I'll wait until I got to push it to its limits, and thats what this great German car for.

Damn, I usually only get 20-22mpg in mixed driving with a heavy foot, is your new audi a hybrid or sumthing?
