Don't get the 12V 2.8s they're slow as hell. Keep looking, there are deals out there to be had. Try cars.com or your local craiglist.

hahaha rofl. that will be the only time you ever say that. i thought i wasnt going to need speed but then i got lots of it. i moded the hell out of my car and in the beginign i thought i didnt need a fast car.
get a 1.8t quattro manual and mod that sucker

 

Well since its your first car you definitely don't want a 96 2.8 (for maintenance reasons), and you WILL want your ride to be faster lol So take Jeff's advide and get a 98+ 1.8T

pinto hell no. bike is out of the picture. i talked to a german car mechanic and the 12v 2.8 are very reliable engines. 1.8t is not realible at all to him since u got the turbo and all that heat. if i do mod, its only going to be the basics
