Default Mileage ---HELP

The whole reason behind selling my previous 4 runner and buying an audi was for speed and better gas milage. and the gas milage is not a whole lot better. is there anything i can do to get a little better gas milage ?

Thanks

Start with PMing this guy: https://www.audiforums.com/showProfile.asp?memid=27065 and ask him how he achieves 37 mpg in his 2.8

But seriously... Start with replacing basic things like plugs and air filter and go from there. Also use premium fuel, and run a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner or Seafoam through a tank of gas. You should be low 20's for the city and 30ish for highway. Dont rely on the on board computer that tells you your mpg. Do the math on paper like the cave men used to.

No its like $5 at most. The Seafoam might be $6 or $7 but is good stuff if you can get it locally. Autozone around here usually carries it.

What about a performance chip? Will that increase gas milage?

Yes and no. Depends on how you drive it. I noticed a a few added mpg when driving conservatively on the highway. Then in the city a loss of a few mpg when driving like an *** hole. So for the most part, no.

OH ya, forgot he is NA.

GIAC makes a chip for 2.8 30v engines and also the 3.0 I think.. But the bang for buck is stupid. MAYBE 5-10hp for something like $300.
