Milltek's stuff is deffinately priced on the high side, but very high quality stuff. Borla doesnt offer a cat back for you i dont think.. Consider going custom. My only choice is Milltek too if i dont go custom (fwd). But ive made up my mind and am actually ordering milltek's tomorrow for $799 shipped.

Looks to be a pretty quality product, but still overpriced. Remember exhausts are just piping... Thats it piping. Custom is probably the best and cheapest way to go simply because you can get a perfect fitment.

Custom is hardly ever a perfect fit and thats the main advantage of buying a pre fab'd cat back from a company like milltek. At least for the fwd, the exhaust around the resonator back is so curvy and angled that it would be real tuff to replicate that with a custom job. But i agree it can be done for less.

I dont know man. Anyone with mandrel skills could replicate those bends pretty easily. I know of a shop that custom makes downpipes as well, so I think they could replicate this exhaust as well for about 200.

I guess I just dont trust anyone enough to do a custom job for me. Ive heard and seen too many horror stories to chance it. I would have gone with a Borla cat back, if they made one for my car, so i dont have a huge problem paying a little more for the milltek which is supposed to be slightly less loud and a perfect fit. Im typicaly a custom/diy kind of guy, but i have full confidence and dont mind paying extra in this case for the exhuast i guess. Its also cool to support these audi/euro vendors so they can have some cash flow for research and design for more fun toys. Haha... Listen to me trying to sell myself on this high dollar exhaust![&:] Well... I guess im already sold cuz i just ordered it!!! YAY.
The K04/install kit and fpr order is going in tomorrow!

I went with custom due to the price of pre-fabbed kits. Cost me under $300, and I couldn't be happier. I went to a place that has a long history of doing some great hot-rod stuff. Good sound, great fit. If it's an established company with a good history, I wouldn't hesitate going with a custom set-up. The biggest problem for me was it's an hour away, and I had to go out there to order the muffler and tips I wanted, had to wait for them to come in, and then go back out to have them installed. Cost me a couple of afternoons of vacation as well.
