I've got the Milltek on my 1999.5 2.8. The fit and finish are perfect, I just wish it was a little quieter in the cabin, it's loud under load and cruising on the highway @80, but i love the sound. It sounds great accerating.

I have Milltek on mine. Mines a Quattro.
The thing is I don't know how stock sounds so I cant really help you out.
To me its not that Loud at all. I would like it louder. Its like a low deep growl.
I can actually hear my Engine over the Exhaust.
Once I get a Test Pipe that should be good and if anything I'll just take out the Resonator lol.

I have a turboback setup no cat or resonator just 3"inch test pipe and 2.5" piping to my magnaflow alittle loud but it sounds good to me. I might end up getting another magnaflow in the mid section of the piping to mellow it down.

Check out www.stratmosphere.com, they have a sound clip for the Milltek exhaust on a 01 A4 1.8T. I have the Milltek set-up and it sounds very nice on the V6. I think they also sell the non-resonated system if you reall wand to be heard.
