Default Milltek Experience

I just got a Milltek exhaust, it has been on my car since Thursday.
The first time I turned the car on, I was like "Ok so whats the difference?", I allowed the exhaust to warm up for the first time, and took it for a test drive, at first I was "WTF I cant believe this is quieter than stock" at least inside(I thought).

Then I get a friend to hear it from the outside, and he noticed all the joints where leaking, I applied some Hermetite put the claps on and dried the Hermetite with my heat gun, The dam thing still leaks.

Then we finally got to hear it from the outside, the dam thing is quieter than the stock unit, it just has a indifferent tone and bigger pipes.

I am extremely disappointed with Milltek exhaust systems, tomorrow I am going to see if I can get those joints welded and that POS resonator taken out.

I wanted an exhaust that was sporty yet it quiet enough for daily use , not a mute exhaust that offers nothing more than the stock did.

Ps: I wrote to them yesterday, they got my e-mail and have not replied yet.

Before you get all angry take a set of resonaters out and start that bastard up.. You'll immediatly hear a deep growl and fall in love. Resonators mute the car not the exhaust... So before you get pissed replace a set of resonators with aluminum straight pipes.. you'll hear a GIGANTIC difference. I felt just like you when I first had my Borlas on except not as pissed but once I took the resonators off the beast roared and I was amazed.. Give it chance.

Wow thats strange.. I have had a great expereince with my milltek. Ya its quiet compared to alot of others, but it is no way as quiet as stock for me. I noticed improvements in performance instantly. You do need to give it some time to burn off some material in the muffler though before it gets louder. Mine has changed tone several times now. I had no problem with leaks so i think that may be a user error. Anyway, if you did the research you would have known that milltek is quiet compared to borla or any other system. Im extrememly surprised to hear about this kind of review. But give it some time, it will start to growl more and you should notice extrapower especially in the higher rps for sure. What yr/engine do you have anyway?
Dont take the resonator out unless you dont care if it pops/backfires slightly.

Thats how i felt when i had my APR installed, but eventually it tunes up nicely, i get a good rumble and some poping, especially when its had time to heat up it sounds mean. I hope when you take out the resonator that it becomes too loud, because thats the beauty of mine, its perfect. (sits like **** on the car but hey)

DUDE..... quiet exhausts are a nice thing to have, especially on an audi... loud exhausts are just obnoxious and annoying. A nice quiet toned exhaust is the way to go, i would actually be excited if i were you.

I love my Milltek system. Its with out a doubt louder than the stock system on my car. It has a amasing deep rumble espically when you pulling into a parking lot and your holding the revs at about 2400. And when your at w o t it sounds really great. I didint have any leaking issues with mine.
