Default MMMM!!! fantasic

So yesterday I finally had some time to just drive my car. Only bought a few weeks ago. I took it to a pretty sweet stretch of road out here in Tucson(star pass), lots of the twisty stuff. I LOVE QUATTRO. I had lightly pushed through some easy bends before, but nothing like this. There's one corner I got the whole A$$ just driften. I had never been able to do this as I only drove FWDs before. As good a driver I think I am, this was still new. But the Quattro made it easy. I never felt like I was pushing the car past it's limit. It just did what I wanted when I wanted it to do it.

Now I understand why in the millions car mags I've read over the years they always raved about an audis ability to make a bad driver look good, and a good driver look like a hero. WOW!!! Getting this car some better spring, and struts is gonna give me wood. Stock body roll of the Audi is far from what I'm use to. Honda Integs, and Preludes. They stay flat , and poised but lack the shear grip of quattro.

Thought I'd throw my story in the mix of repeat topics. I think you all have had a similar first time with quattro experience.

You Know as in Arizona, the desert. 110+ degrees in the summer. Barely hits the 20s at night in the middle of winter.

With your suspension parts does it still have a far amount of body roll? I heard some bad things about gettin sway bars. Heard it makes the car understeer more then anything. I want my car to oversteer a little more, Probably just add an adjustable rear sway, and front/rear strut tower braces. I think that should be be right to stiffen the chasis, and creat some oversteer.

I can vouch for the adjustable rear sway bar...check out the AW classifieds, I think there's the kind you're looking for (Neuspeed).

I just bolted mine on last week, definitely makes the rear stiffer when you're whipping through turns. I managed to get a wheel up in the air on a skid pad, and I havne't even tried it on its stiffest setting.

Many people don't purchase the front sway bar....but if a strut tower brace would minimize front body roll without creating too much understeer, go for it.

Ya, im lookin to get a rear swaybar and springs. I was lauling down kiefer road at 120 (before i got it chipped ;-) and followin my buddy who had a (cant believe im saying this...) sick *** acura. over 16 grand under the hood, 6 grand on the body, and 4 grand for handeling. it was nice. and he took this forner at about 90, so i jsut followed him. andi didnt see the 30 sine until the last moment. then i freaked, but i just went into the turn smooth and heals it sideways, all 4 tires screaching and bolted out of it. my friend wiht the acura even complimented on howe well my car held that turn. i love AWD...

body roll is pretty much gone with the springs and shocks. it really stays nice and flat through the turns without having sucha harsh ride like the race springs would have. and yes, sway bars can give more understeer...IF YOU GET THE WRONG ONES (like i think if you just did the front you would get more understeer). Look at the Hotchkis Sport ones.
