modding a 12 valve
I plan to get wheels, suspension, brakes, and an intake:
what kind of a drop should i get with 18 by 8 wheels? what suspension setup is super smooth?
i have a bad *** exhaust, id like to get an intake, but other than that, are there any upgrades for the 97 2.8? thanks

I have a 12v, I don't like it.
ya i agree 12v blows, i have a 96 a4 2.8 and kick myself everyday for buying it, its a comftorble car to drive and is nice enough, but all and all the motor makes me very unhappy and am looking forward to getting a newer a4 in the future with either a 1.8t or a 3.0. not sure though, gotta wait for when i graduate from school in september.
There's a guy on Audizine that just bought an entire S4 drivetrain and is putting it into his V6. Engine, tranny, ECU, rear end, front subframe.
I don't think turbo'ing a 12V would be as big a deal as you make it out to be. You'd need a custom log mani, the turbo, an intercooler, a fueling solution, a standalone, and a headgasket spacer. Voila. It's not like it'd cost 15,000$. If you were motivated and junkyard savvy you could put something together for super cheap.

It is a big deal. It will cost thousands of dollars (at least 5k). I've seen it done several times. Check out http://forums.audiworld.com/12v
