any websites of vendors that sell turbo kits/exhausts, etc that I could look @?
any maybe "known" vendor?

the best thing to do IMO is to get a gt30r or a gt35r turbo depending on future plans..those setups are good for 380-500hp...but you would obviously have to change pistons and other internals...i have heard of audis being able to handle 400hp.
as for prices the turbo is a good 2g's, computer would be around 600$, injectors would be probably round 600-700, intercooler is a good 1100$, exhaust 3" piping with a test pipe to a borla or magnaflow muffler, intake 200-450 depending on brand, and go with a stand alone fuel management
hope this covers most things for u im sure i missed something that someone else will catch
GOODLUCK

RE: Modding the A4 big time
Im pretty sure REVO has a kit? That used the 2871r. And if you go with the gt2871r you dont have to change the internals.
About the s4, i dont think it would be any better, maybe when it comes to drivability, but to get 400-450whp i think its6grand with the awe kit. Also the s4's initially more along with insurance.

gt28rs - 350 hp
gt2871r - 400 hp
gt3071r - 450 hp
gt35r - 600 hp
these are numbers at the crank
gt28rs - 350 hp
gt2871r - 400 hp
gt3071r - 450 hp
gt35r - 600 hp
these are numbers at the crank
for instance
gt28rs -400+ hp
gt2871r - 450+ hp
gt3071r -500+ hp
gt35r -700+ hp
note to the original poster. these are 1.8t figures. and anything over 400Bhp regularly on a 1.8t is ata high risk of rod failure. replace the rods and keep the stock pistons, and you're good for 550Bhp and a 8k redline

Hello all. Thanks for reading.
I currently own a Dodge SRT-4. Great little car, very happy with it as a matter of fact, but I may be on the market for a new car.
I thought of the A4 because I really do like Audis and I like 4 doors. Now... Im a fan of Rally inspired cars. Hence why I arrived @ the SRT-4. Yes I know, FWD, American made yada yada. At the time, the EVO and STi were out of my range. I was looking @ the A4 to take the SRTs place, but in order to do that, I want it to have the power of my SRT.
I currently have a Stage 3 no toys computer & turbo , full turbo back, Intercooler, Intake, thorttle body and more. @ the dyno doing about 320whp and 330wtq. While I havent been to the track much, especially never with slicks, the car is made to be a 12 second car with a good driver ( maybe not me :P lol).
I saw a possibly heavy modded A4 the other day that sounded SICK, huge intercooler in the front, carbon fiber hood, and wing. Nota huge fan of the wing, but the rest, yes.
Ive been searching, and will continue to search through the forums, but I honestly have 0 idea when it comes to modding an A4.
Im looking for:
Turbo often used with A4s to put me somewhere in the 350-400hp range to be similar in power to the SRT-4 (SRT is much lighter).
Looking for I suppose 3' turboback . What are the options?
What are the price ranges on setups to put you @ 400~whp? this would include: computer, trubo, injectors, intercooler, exhaust, intake, fuel system, etc, etc
Back with the SRT, you had a choice to make. go Mopar Stages and basically not have to worry about tuning, or tune with a big turbo. I chose Mopar because of the obvious "easy mode". Is there anything similar for A4s?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

RE: Modding the A4 big time
you could do all kinds of expensive things to get numbers like that but youre better off starting with a better platform. buy yourself a nice 2002 S4 and you couldnt be happier with its disgusting performance. disgusting being very amazing in my lingo. its easier to get power like that out of an S4 and you will be happier with the purchase. my friend's S4 make just over 600 to the crank. car is on coilovers with stoptechs front and rear. thing is so goddamn fun to drive...

RE: Modding the A4 big time
u should yield to the power of the B5. i personally like the 01 S4 better. gotta luv that 2.7 biturbo. yes the 4.2 has more power all the time but do u really need all that power all the time? all u gotta do is down shift 1 gear (sumtimes 2) but that's just my opinion.

The 02 was a 2.7t as well.
