i have a 2001 a4 1.8t fwd 5spd

any ideas on cheap mods, not wanting to upgrade the turbo or anything, thats too much money. im trying to figure out a good intake to get for my car

im still thinking about getting the apr chip and a better dv, not sure if i should do it thought, what are your thoughts on that??

 

dont bother wit the intake

just get the chip and new DV

a few weeks ago, its not that great of a story but, i was driving around to get some gas and noticed some headlights weaving in and out of cars behind me slowly catching me. it caught my attention as it got closer and then it got up next to me and it happened to be a newer miata. i know that they are not the fastest cars but they are pretty quick due to the lack of weight and moderate power. i downshifted to one up him and he noticed. after that i pulled in front of a car that was in front of me and was approaching a red light so the miata got in that lane next to me and i knew that it was on when the light turned green. slowly ave it gas so it was revving to about 3.5k. when the light turned green me and the miata both were off but it was no contest. i totally smoked him by at least 6 car lengths by the time i hit third gear with a little chirp. loved it!!!!!

good story, i would never race a miata though, i hear the new ones are pretty quick and i dont think i could live with myself if i lost to one. miata=my least favorite car off all time, i get shivers down my spin each time a man drives by in one.

hooray for you guys. Grow some *****. Miatas are sick. That they're slow means nothing. A miata from any generation will whoop your fvckin *** in the autocross. And to be honest, I find it surprising that you beat him that badly. They're slower than ****, but A4s are nearly as slow. That's how it is.

i dont disagree that a miata may kick my ***, which is the reason i dont want to race one! but i would take my a4 over a brand new miata, i cant stand them what so ever!

 

I'm surprised you got 6 lengths on a car that will get to 60 in about 7.5, and handles very sweetly indeed... Methinks he was not racing... Glad you like the car though!
