mods with a K04
I have recently added a K04-015 turbo to my ride and have been running it with an APR-tuned ECU. Obviously this isn't the software the K04 was designed to run on, and I plan on buying the GIAC k04 chip ASAP. My question is what other mods I would need in order for the K04 to run its best. I have heard that larger fuel injectors are a must, as well as a 5-bar fuel pressure regulator. So, what size fuel injectors should I be looking for, and what other mods should I be considering at this point?
Thanks a lot

RE: mods with a K04
To get the current k04 running without blowing your budget, you will need to get an adjustable (or fixed) 5 bar fuel pressure regulator and obviously GIAC programming.
I am assuming you have already upgraded your diverter valve.
You should also have your fuel filter replaced to make sure that your pump can deliver the required fuel flow.
Next would be a cat-back exhaust .
Then a FMIC.
You can obviously get some $$$$ back by selling your APR chip

Joe, i would suggest getting giac tuning asap, people have ran ko4's on apr and blew their motor. get that stuff as previously mentiond very soon..or just dont beat the car.
and mr north 5995, for 2000 and up there is the j31 file. pc-16 is for the dbc. drive by cable motors...i.e. 99.5 and below...j31 is for the 2000 and up drive by wire.
hope this helped.

So I haven't seen anyone say anything about injectors. Is it fair for me to assume that all I really need at this point is the programming, the 5 bar reguulator, and possibly a new fuel filter?

Yes, that is the first step on a long road.
