mods for my 97 Audi A4
Hello everyone,
As you guys may have noticed, I am new to the audi forums. I got my audi A4 about 10 months ago, but never cared to upgrade anything until i lost some races against the VTEC family this weekend. Those loses did it for me....I am coming after those VTECS next summer[:@] . However, i'm not sure what i can do to my car to make it faster. I have a 1997 A4 1.8T with an AUTOMATIC transmission. All the aftermarket stuff that i have on the car right now is a body kit, a blow-off valve, and a magnaflow exhaust system (not sure if it's full exhaust). I am still trying to learn about the car. Would u guys please help me in figuring out what i can do to the car during the winter to get it ready for racing next summer? Thanks a lot. I look forward to keeping in touch with you guys in the future.

#1 Chip, gaic or Apr shuold be fine.
#2 DV,, NOT Bov
#3 bk7re plugs should help a bit w/ extra boost.
#4 gt28rs (or bigger) kit (should be done first :P)
There are always lil things you can do to help. port out the Drivers side fender well for extra flow on the IC, port your airbox. There are plenty of things you can do...

ya those ****ing ricers have gotten to you and did you put taht bov on? or did it come with the car? because if YOU put it on the car i will find out where you live and bitch slap you so hard that everyone on here is gona feel it.
lemme guess you got some neon lights underneath too?
seriously though.. chip/ aDIVERTER VALVE , not a ****ing BOV.. Exaust, as in full catback like the borla and milltek, not a ****ing fartcan OK??

LOL 18T...thanks for the reply...nah, the BOV came with the car. It's my first audi, so I'm still trying to learn more about the car. It's a TurboXs big *** blow off valve. That thing is loud, and the psshhht sound is orgasmic. But if it's not good for the car, i'm gonna take it off ASAP. And no, i don't have underbody neons...i'm thinking bout getting some LED's... u know, **** that doesn't shatter everytime you hit something. I have the RS4 style body kit. I'll have like 700 to spare on december...you guys think i should just put that money into this car and get some upgrades? Or should i just sell this one, get a stick, and put the turbo upgrade on that one? I don't know if my automatic tranny will be able to handle a turbo upgrade or a lot of horsepower. Thanks for the reply to you too, flyboy...You guys let me know about the above-mentioned questions.

Yes your tranny will be able to handle a turbo uprade, such as a k04.
Both APR and GIAC are great chips, although if you are going to go the route of a turbo upgrade,go with GIAC.
Also get a GIAC tip chip. And dont forget to get rid of the BOV and get a new DV.

An automatic tranny (especially ours) cannot handle a major turbo upgrade. The tourque would blow it to pieces. Sell that car. If I could change anything about my car it would be a tranny. I want a turbo upgrade so bad but we can't.
