More timing belt questions
2002 1.8t Quattro.
1) The book says 105k change it. Has Audi issued any bulletins that it has to be done sooner?
2) Whatever the book or Audi says, if it fails before that time, is any resulting damage covered by a CPO warranty? (Mine expires the sooner of 100k or mid-2008)
3) How much SHOULD I pay at an independent shop.
4) Are aftermarket belts and kits more or less reliable than OEM?
Thanks

Id do it early man , i dont know if they would cover it or now i would think they would if they say dont change it till 105..... the aftermarket kits are just as good as oem and usually cheaper.. and it all depends on the shop for a price but the kit onlky costs like $400
#1 - please search first!!
1- not sure
2- no - your car is covered while its under warranty - thats it - so if you have a 100k mile warranty then your golden if it goes out before 100k - other wise your screwed.
3- you should pay somewhere around 800-1200 to have it done I believe
4- don't buy eBay kits - search a little bit and you'll find more than enough info on where to buy
