Default Motor Build

I did some seaching and cant seem to find the exact answer I want.

I am thinking of doing a motor build with a possible compression change. New Pistons/Rods and whatnot.

Anyone know of a cost for this?

My buddy did his 350z for over 5k.

He said it would run 2200-2600 for labor.

I have 92K on my motor now and would like to build it b4 I put the 2871R on it.

As for the new pistons and rods, I don't know but you could probably just deck the block and zero it out and that should bring it up quite abit.

don't worry about buildin the motor if you got an AEB. Just get rods. That's all you need. 716hp was made on an AEB with just rods . they are strong as hell compaired to the other 1.8ts (xcept 225 tt)

Yeah, you don't need to build your engine for a GT2871. Rods are the weak point, other than that, AEBs are rock solid.

What are we talking for labor then? Is it hard to replace rods/cams?

Might as well ahve them do a TB when they are in there.

well.. i dont think labors gonna be too different on replacing rods from ... doing a motor build. You have to disassemble the motor anyway.

Might as well have it built with pistons/rods. I have a 92K mile car and that would give me alot more life outta it

Where is a good place to find some good cams. I found the forged rods on atpturbo.com but I can't find the cams anywhere. Also is there a website or should i just go to the dealership to get like a complete gasket set for a rebuild. Thanks in advance.

www.ecstuning.com has some piston and rod kits along with individual parts.
