Default Motor Mount Question

Okay so while fixing my car i see that the passenger side motor mount has a crack in a it. I want to replace them and audi wants $145 a piece. i saw the APR Snub mounts and want to know if these are any good and how they work. do they take place of the original motor mounts?

Snub mount is for the front of the engine. Motor mounts are different. See what some of the places on the net are charging (eg getcoolparts.com or ecstuning) for motor mounts

The snub is on the front where the cross brace goes behind the bumper (also the boost pipe) This is just to limit the drive-line from shifting. It may also cause engine vibration. Motor Mounts are diferent and will cost you a lot more.

Dont mind the yellow circle and arrow. The snub mount goes on the black pipe faceing the motor under the water pump arrow.

ok good. can u tell me where the engine mounts are then lol. cause im taking off my oil pan and i need to raise the engine a couple of inches in order to get the oil pan past the cross member. and in order to raise it i need the motor mounts out... i would assume. i understand the issue about the snub mount thanks.

What is the difference between thses?

The Blue square is for the snub (2nd link) and the Green square's are where the engine mounts are at even though they are'nt shown.

before you buy mounts, but a bentley manual.

if your snub has never been changed, i would recommend doing it. theres nothing wrong with putting another oem snub back on, but purems and 034 both have quality solutions.
