Hey everybody.. i plan on purchasing a pre-owned audi pretty soon. Im just wondering what engine i should look for. I want to eventually install an engine kit such as headers and intake. Maybe superchips or such. Which engine should i look for when i go searching for cars.

I know that the CVT probably cant be modded to give you more HP because its a belt driven engine. I want to know the best engine for performance?

u should go for the 1.8t it has the most potential they have more for the B5 engine

The answer is always the 1.8t when it comes to performance. It's simply more tunable than the 2.8.

 

1.8T with a manual all the way man!

 

1.8T and you will be set!!

 

I have a 1.8T with a manual transmission... awesome.

I also have the MTM stage 2 chip... VERY NICE

 

if u want to mod it that much, ur better off going with the 1.8T, alot better option to mods then the 2.8
