if your able to loose weight in the car then that should help out.
make sure your air filter is clean aswell, i dont realy know any other advice =\

i dont know what mpg i get, since i have the 1996 2.8 and i dont have the screen on my dash to tell me, but i know i can get anywhere between 65-75 miles in aquater of a tank, depending upon how i drive during that quater of a tank
im using basic unleaded fuel. $2.70 last time i checked, fuels cheap realy.

30+???

are you sure you don't mean 20+? I find it really difficult to believe you're getting 30 mpg+ with mixed city and highway driving, when audi only claims 29 mpg on the highway! especially considering the fact that you're "no nancy with the go pedal".

on top of that, I can barely do 25 mpg when driving 90% highway!

I have a 98 1.8 qt also, and I get the same mpg as you..... It comes to arund 250 miles per tank. I used to get 300+ per tank, but not any longer. At first I thought it was because of the new wheels I put on....but it just seems like it has been decreasing more and more. I cleaned my iat sensor and maf sensor. I'm leaning towards fuel filter or o2 sensor as being the culprit now. Oh....and I have to pay $3.77 a gallon now. I just paid $56.00 dollars to fill up the other day....[:@]
