Default Much thanks AF members!

Hey guys (and girls),
I don't mean to get all sentimental, but thanks to everyone for your excellent advice about these cars. I have been "lurking" the forum for about 4 months putting together the funds to take the plunge. Today I finally broke free from the DSM curse. I bought a 1997 Audi A4 1.8TMQ Sport from a dealership in Milwaukee. The advice from the ppl on this forum is probably the main reason I was able to get a deal and know what I am talking about. The car has 106K on it, t-belt done, tension, water pump, thermostat, new tires and brakes. The main selling point was the fact that I was able to drive over to Autobahn Automotive and talk directly to the Audi-Certified mechanic that has done every inch of work on the car since the older gentleman bought it new in 1997. He has all the records of everything even down to every oil change. The dealership was asking $6500. Long story short, I walked out owning the car for $5600 tax title and license included.

Now, two questions: Used DV or no?

2nd: I have heated clothe seats, I have never seen this before, anyone else have this?

Thanks again,
Steve

Sounds like you got a great deal. I liked knowing mine was driven by a older guy, you know they don't beat them up like we do.

If you're asking weather you should buy a used DV, I would say no. You can get a new710n (standard TT DV)for like $60 or less or you can get a Baileys or Forge for like $120-150 depending where you look.

Post some pics of your new ride, we'd love to see'em.

congrats. cloth seats are rare, but im glad i have leatherette. and any piston style dv would be fine buying used. They pretty much never break, and if they do, forge sells all the internal pieces cheap.
