Mwahahaha! - Brake teaser
I currently have Zimmerman drilled rotors with the stock calipers and Mintex red box pads.
These monsters are the Stasis 355mm fronts. I also picked up the Stasis B5 S4 rears. I think they measure out to 298mm. The Stasis rears are bigger than the stock fronts. I picked up a set of used S4 rears and I still need to get them cleaned up and painted before they go on.
Got them from Supreme Power Parts.

So my buddy Dave came over today to help me install my Stasis fronts. We pop the wheels off and unbolt the stock fronts with no problems. While the front calipers are still connected we decided to check the wheel clearance. No dice. Not even close. The caliper was against the inside of the wheel. Not good.
The template is a good 1/4" off.
Time to get some pads since the passenger side caliper froze and was going metal to metal. Went to Pep boys and picked up a set of green stuff pads.
On the way back we got some dinner at Chevy's. Good stuff.
When we got back we discovered that I don't have a clamp to push the caliper piston into place. It was about 9:15pm when we headed out for a clamp. So we go to Kmart since they started carrying Craftsman tools. No clamps. Then to Ace Hardware. Closed. Then to Autozone. Closed. Then Home Depot. No clamps of any kind. Not even a single vice. It was 9:55 when we entered Lowes (which closes at 10). Turns out Lowes has plenty of clamps to choose from. Big thumbs up for having a decent tool section.
We finally get back to my house and quickly install the drivers side pads without a hitch. The passenger side is another story. We crank on the clamp for about 30 min before we give in and take the caliper out to clean the piston and inside of the caliper.
This thing was rusted to hell. We filed down the rust on the piston and cleaned out the caliper, which had chunks of rust and dirt inside it.
We put the piston back in with relative ease and reassemble the passenger side brakes, bleed the system, and go for a drive. 12:00.
Even though it feels good to be able to stop again, I feel like kicking a puppy right now.[:@]
