shave off more weight then your lil bro and you might find times like that. thats the one thing i learned so far about my car( and i could be totally wrong) but they are not 1/4 mile cars, their more suited for track racing, the only time i race someone in a straight line is with a 30 mph start cause i dont wanna burn out my clutch by dealing with first gear.
why does eveyone complain about not being able to launch our cars without burning up the clutch??? Just rev to 3000-3500 rpm and pop the clutch, mine takes off so smooth everytime with no bogging down.......try it, you'll love it
is your car FWD or a quattro? cause mine is a quattro, so if i dump the clutch at 3500 rpms, the wheels just grab the ground and it shoots right down to like, 2000 rpms, then it picks up. the only way i found to launch on my car is to bring it up to like 4000 and feather out the clutch. it launches fast that way, but then i have to deal with the clutch possibly sticking in second from it being to hot. it dosent matter though i found someone that can build me a custom 4-puck clutch for around $300, and i got a good tranny guy to put it in for me, so ill be able to do launches that are hard on the clutch.
mine is also Quattro........what's weird is I have tried the 4000-4500 rpm's and feather out approach, with little success....in most case just burning the hell out of the clutch. What seems to work best for me is 3500 then dump....nice and smooth 9 out of 10 times, with no bogging down.
If with you though, new clutch is next on my mod list!!!!!!

yeah i wasnt planning on buying a new clutch soo soon, but its been sticking every now and then, so i guess the previous owner didnt know how to drive the car. im gunna try the 3500 and drop and see if it works for my car too.

When I have the testpipe and a chip/dv I want to be running 6.1's - 6.5's at most... no joke... I want those times.
8 seconds is disgusting in my mind.
