my 1st AUDI
Well I finally got my first German car [8D]: an A4. 2003 with 45k miles. I love the car, the design, the engineering and drivingbut 1st week owning it the immobilizer part in the steering column went out resulting in intermittent starts and oil is leaking bad from the valvecover. Otherwise the car is really clean. I'm glad I bought it Certified so AUDI is gonna pickup the tab for these "repairs". I have been reading the posts from you guys and hope these two issues are not an indication of constant hassles to come. I am fairly mechanical so I plan on working on my new toy once the certified warranty runs out. All the info you guys have compilied here, it should be no problem finding a solution to any problem tht'll come up.
Welcome to the forum.
The cars are reliable and a blast to own, just keep up on maintenance, and you'll enjoy it!
They are not that bad to work on either, the good engineering (sometimes) means things are laid out more sensibly, and (sometimes) its easier to work on than other vehicles.

its a 1.8T with 5 speed, but of course, and yes eventually i plan on doing a chip/injectors and perhaps an exhaust, but right now i don't really want to do anything that will void tht Certified warranty.

Hopefully the car doesnt have any big issues and it gets fixed correctly, but yeah paint lowers man!
