hey so I have an '03 A4 1.8T FWD Tip and I am going to get it chipped, I also have a cold air intake, and will get a new DV with the chip. Now on the website of the place I am going to (and on www.GOAPR.com) it says with 93 octane I should get about 215hp. my friend says thats bull **** and they are just trying to steel my money, and that in his words "wow, your car will turn on faster, thats it." now keep in mind he had a BMW 3 series and his chip only increases his horsepower slightly.
does anyone have anything insightful to say that can show him that yes chip is awesome and i have read on some other threads that "it feels like a new car".
also i read in a thread that the 1.8t came out of the labs faster than the 3.0 so they tuned it down so the flagship model would be faster.

exactly, NA cars dont gain much from chips, but on turbocharged cars, tuning makes all the difference in the world

it will definitely feel like a whole new car. you should look into APR stage 1+ which also uses bigger injectors. you'll get ~235hp instead of 215

no, they tuned it down cause most people buy this car as a luxury vehicle not a race car. they made it efficient not powerful

This is a wonderful chance to shut him up honestly, if your friend is that ignorant chip your car and wager him a race and take his money as well as make him look stupid.

well u gotta be careful there auditech79. the man said his friend has a 3 series but nvr specified which one lol. if it's a XI model, adotjdot will win but idk bout the other models. it would be a good match. just don't race him if he has a M3 lol

didnt mention if he had any mods thought too. but you should certainly wager on it before you show him this thread
