Default My new exhaust

I'm pretty excited. I finally get to get my new exhaust for my car. it's going to be a 3" cat back custom exhaust with magnaflow mufflers. the test pipe will come later when i have more money. either way it's pretty exciting for me. i'm going to be taking a ton of pictures of the removal of the old exhaust and the install of the new one. i'll post pics when it's all done. i'll also get a sound byte of the exhaust note when we are all done.

3" is a little big for the stock turbo, back pressure wise. Hope you dont run into any loss of low end tq. due to that.

I was told that 3" was actually better and that the turbo creates enough back pressure and that if the exhaust is opened up it should create a good hp increase. i'm getting the same exact setup as the owner and he loves it. he even uses his to autocross. the only difference between the two cars will be i have mufflers and all he has is resinators. i hope it works good. it should.

The turbo needs back pressure from the cat back to helpbuild boost quickly /keep the lag minimal. Once it gets spooling its not a problem, but you might notice more lag with 3" backand stock turbo. Its sort of a rule of thumb.
If youre going to stick with the k03 and have no intentions of ever going bigger, id go 2.5"-2.75"... Especially if you are going to do a test pipe because that will further decrease back pressure.

Good luck finding many people, if any, that run 3" piping with a k03. Youll find by searching here that most people with BT's go 3" and k03/k04 guys go with 2.5" or so. They do that for a reason. Im not an expert, but I have read and doneenough to know a thing er two about a thing er two.

Yeah, pretty common knowledge that 3" exhaust will be too much for the K03. 2.5" is likely best, but I've got a 2.75" Milltek system.

would it be wise for me to get the 3inch millteck if i plan on doing the eliminator gtrs kit down the road, i mean i might suffer the lag now with the stock ko3 but i have a cracked flex pipe so im buying exhaust before the turbo
