Default my new turbo, wat intercooler should i run?

so i ordered a k04, a new clutch from awe, an awe boost gauge that goes in the vent, n some other crap here n there, i need an intercooler, but the apr one requires a new front end, and the awe ic is more xpensive. any suggestions? with the k04's pc16 injector and upgraded ecu beyond the giac chip that comes w the k04 i need an intercooler to run it. anybody have a cheaper intercooler in mind?

Greedys can be found for <$700 but they are not bar/plate intercoolers, they are tube/fin. Others, SPP, evoMS which are up near 1k.

Not sure, check there websites, you can always go custom. Spearco core and hard piping, or i've been looking at the forge cores but they are up in the $300+ for just the core.

Yea rip off, what i don't get is why they have a 11" tall intercooler and the mouth of the a4 front bumper is only what like 6-7" so the rest of the intercooler is behind the bumper support getting no air flow. Who ever pays $1500 for an intercooler has more money than brains. Besisdes that is for the b6, the b5 one is still in the works.

thanks for the input. now do you guys know if the greddy front mount(which i found new and complete for $600) will fit my b5 a4 without having to change the front bumper or any front end modification at all?

You will have to cut the bummper support which is easy if you have a grider, most fmic you may have to do a little trimming but the greddy has to be trimmed alot. Alot of cutting, and test fitting will be done.
