hi i love the video clips on here of test pipes, thanx for the posts guys

im in australia so i probably cant buy some test pipe so ive got two questions:

1) what do i say to my local exhaust shop to get the same test pipe for my car? i dont wanna pay something rediculous
2) the fine here for a non cat car is $10,000 so how would i mast the test pipe from visual inspection? would it be the same as gutting my stock cat, and running a pipe threw it? if so what specifications would i need for this (would it give me that sexy noise on the posted video clips)

thanx

a test pipe is a cat replacement pipe as far as im aware (In the UK at least) so one could be made up quite easy but you need to ensure both o2 sensors are in the make up pipe

Get a stock cat (from a junked A4) and gut the insides so its hallow. You bolt it into where your stock one is with the o2 sensors and all... done and done. It looks stock.

When you go for emissions just put your stock one back in.

I think they mean you should run a pipe through it to gut the inside of it.

I'd get a 2nd cat though in case you need to change back to your stock one. You just take a pipe and ram it through and keep banging the crap out of those parts inside the cat.

its hard to get the crap out but my choice was a very long wide drill bit long enough to reach the other side of the cat and just drilled the crap till it fell out

Yeah sorry "Ram a gaint rod through the cat to bang out all the internals" isn't technical for you.

I wouldnt be ****** around with your cat or a test pipe if the consequence for doing so is $10,000!!!!! Skip it and just get a more free flowing exhaust.
