Default Need advice: Considering buying my first Audi (2012 A4)

I am considering buying a 2012 A4 as my first Audi. I love the car - its beautiful. Test drove it and got prices for 60mo and 72mo fiances.

I am sure this question has come up numerous times on these forums and others but I couldnt really find exactly what I was looking for - plus these models are new so maybe something has changed.

My concern is the reliability issues I keep reading about. Most forums and reviews talk about awful maintenance costs and many little problems that pop up here and there which require servicing.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I cannot find much information regarding NEW Audis - usually these reports are around buying used Audis. Furthermore, most of these reports are dealing with older years - pre-2009's.

My question to you guys is: Are the 2012's any more reliable than the older 08's and below? How much more expensive is it to maintain than say an Infiniti G25x (which is my other option at the moment)?

Since I am buying, I am really more worried about the car falling apart after the warranty runs out, which in my case will be after 4 years since I wont be driving the car enough to pass the mileage cap. After year 4, will I be spending a ton of money to keep the car running?

Thanks!

Might not be exactly the answer you are looking for but you can always get an extended warranty for the peace of mind. I did when I got A4. I was coming from the Acura family which as many knows are very reliable cars. I have never had a problem with my last Acura MDX (it has 83000 miles when I traded it in). I was concerned with the reliability of the A4 and cost of maintenance so I got the extended warranty.

I am the owner of an Audi A6 for the past 9 years; to be honest, these cars drive smooth, they are great and you will love every second that you have the car. I would suggest if you are rich enough to make sure:
1. You have enough warranty for peace of mind for, at least, the first 4 to 5 years.
2. Make sure you sell it as soon as the warranty runs out/ or when you have at least 80000 miles driven.
By the time, you already drove around 80000 miles; you will have to spend so much on repairs. It’s very expensive to maintain an Audi.
I still have my car because I do not want to have another car loan payment.
