Thanks for the reply.

I can get the sub-10 or12 with an amp for that price point. I understand that the factory Bose system has a more powerful amp, but I can't seem to find out if it the aditional wattage powers the sub only or less efficient cabin speakers.

Now, if I upgarde the cabin speakers, will I need another amp to boost the power requirements of speaker upgrades (sub not included)? I am sure someone has gone down this road previously, but I would like to stay close to the $1,00.00 budget.
