Default need answer quick! the rain is on the way!

So i'm under my 01 A4 and i'm trying to put on the OEM dv i just bought. I noticed that hose that is connected by the screw clamp has a hole in it. (not the little hose the big one that holds the little one). do you think this might be the reason my car is surging and not going when i punch the gas? or could it be a minor thing that needs to be fixed but in the mean time i should put on the new dv....

No you need to get that fixed asap!!! That is why your car is acting up, what you have is a huge vac leak...

The big tube is the one that recirculate's the air back into the intake it should be at any parts house. Find out what length you need and what the ID (inner diameter) is then get silicone hose in that size.
OR the better thing to do is pull it off and tell the parts house you need a new one. I say this cuz I am not sure if silicone hose will be good enough, but they will know.

Maybe I don't remember if it has bends in it or not. You could try taking the tube to your local dealer. That is a fairly chear part maybe $20-30 at the dealer, if you don't want to do it yourself.

Your best bet is to take it off and match something up at NAPA cuz they have alot of stuff like that unlike autozone or schmucks....
