my ehxaust isblown and louuuuud..i think it's the flex pipe.. and my cat converter is bad too.. anyone has a exhaust for a v6 2.8 a4 q.. i'll take..aftermarket or stock..

 

do what im gonna do, just buy a high flow cat and weld it on. i got the same problem, it sounds like a retarded ricer.

 

yeh i was thinking about it...do i have toget for both sides?? and waht about the flex pipe..i looked at it quickly and it looks like the pipe just came off..not cracked or anything...ii should just snap back in ... what brand r u getting and from where??? what size would fit my car a4 97 q 2.8 manualtanks

 

Sounds like its time for a testpipe, and new downpipe with the flex sectionin it.Replace your cat with a testpipe, its one of the few mods you can do to a 2.8.

 

Same Thing happened to me with me 1.8t... soI just went out and got an exhaust that was catback... andI had it custom made to turbo back...

The test pipe is just a pipe that goes in the place of the cats, if i were you id just get both sides, im going with magnaflows, and unlike yours both my flex pipes are F-ed. so my plan is to either actually go out and buy 2 new flex pipes, or just weld the cats to the pipe and add a single flex pipe after the y-pipe. yes its ghetto and not stock and it should work(in theory) and yeah ill see if i can get some pics up since i plan to do it before the months over, im planning on trading in the A4 for a UrS4 soon anyways. BTW do you know the stock exhaust size around the cats.

 

i think its 2.5 im not sure though but the performance is great just what they promise increase in horsepower and torqe...

 

is it 2.5 because ive been getting answer of 2.5 and 2.25 and even someone told me 2. hell ill probably just lift my car up and measrue it myself
