Yes this has been done and it is a direct fit.
Couple of problems with it though. It turns itself off after an hour and there are backlight problems. This is because your car does not have a Canbus wire. There is a fix though, if you don't mind a little soldering:

Does this fix solve the shut down problem as well or just the back light? if no, is there a fix for the shut down problem?
