im new here and i needed some help...... I drive a 98 A4 ive been having problems with my engine. It seems that it overheats easily and then it starts to smoke out of my cat........... any suggestions on what i should do

 

Are you mechanically inclined?

If so, further diagnose - find out what all your symptoms are and provide more information

If not, take it to a mechanic.

 

What have you checked so far?

 

more information required, white smoke is normal for a catalyst the over heating is a main issue

 

Are fans working?

Is the coolent circulating?

Has the water pump been changed? (My $$ is on this as the problem)

 

water pump hasnt been changed....had some engine work one it but still nothing...lately the lost almost all power...fans work...coolent does circulate...
