Need HELP!!!!! Audi a4 no spark
So I have a 1996 audi a4 2.8 v6 and It died on the highway and now has no spark. I have checked timing and is all in line. Changed cam positioning sensor and crankshaft positioning sensor and still no spark. I also changed coils and ecu. I am getting 2 codes one is p1392 and p1340. I can't seem to figure this out. Can anyone help?

you need to diagnose wiring at this point. does your coilpack have the finned piece on it? if so, that is your icm. could be bad, but since your car is a 96, i think these 2 pieced are not part of the same unit. do a quick search for your ICM and learn how to check its voltage/functionality and report your findings. also check wiring for coilpack and cps/cas. all these things need to work to get the engine running right. any recent maintenance or anything come to mind that would cause this?

I have changed the icm as well. Nothing comes to mind why this has happened. I am not very good with electrical work. I have checked the resistance on the cps and it measure a little out of range but it is brand new I can't imagine a new sensor would be bad. Also I have check the continuity between the sensors to the ecm and they all test good. I checked all fuses and wiring looks good and clean. I have put countless hours trying to figure this out.

new sensors can be bad. sad state of affairs but possible. its claiming the cps is still bad. i would probe the connector for power/ground and see if the wiring came loose/connector is damaged.
signal starts at ecu, travels to sensor, returns to ecu. icm controls spark signal from ecu. cps tells icm when to ignite and where. you have "0" spark on any cylinder?
are the parts you replaced new? or new used? there are only 2 other things that impact spark and that is engine timing and oil. if the timing belt gave up the ghost it would cause an immediate stall and since cams would no longer be turning, no cps signal. granted if the belt quit, so did your valves. verify the timing belt

only thing you can check before assuming the new cps is bad is looking for power/ground. do it for ecu, icm, cps, and maybe battery negative/main ground? you said the resistance it out of range, that tells me a ground is bad. i dont want to say you need to go through the wiring, but you might have to. too much resistance means its not getting enough voltage. i have a brand new cps for a 2.8 if you are in the seattle area.
