Default need help with my suspension

I want to lower my car, but only like an inch or so, and I don't want a super stiff ride, does anyone have any suggestions on a good shock/spring combo? I have a 96 A4 2.8 Quattro.

Let me ask you, how much are you willing to spend? Do you want adjustability?

i don't have a whole lot to spend, i'm gonna try to keep it under $1000, but if i need to go over that to get the right kit, i will. i don't need it to be adjustable, but again, if there's a better coilover setup than just shock & springs, I may be willing to spend more. My main concern is that i want something just slightly lower than stock, not too aggressive.

I would go with a Koni coilovers (~800 bucks i think). You can change the ride height and the dampness of it. Purems.com usually sells them for a good price.

i can't seem to find koni coilovers for less then $1100, plus i would need someone to install them for me, as i don't have the tools, the time, or the space to be doing work like that. Also, the adjustability isn't too important to me, i'll probably never adjust them once. My budget is also a little tighter than i thought. Anyone have any suggestions in the 700-800 dollar price range, including install, if possible???

thanks for your input, jestnomen. as far as i'm concerned, you are the all knowing audiforum user.

The Vogtland Sport Kit is right around your price range, on sale for $586.95 at http://www.purems.com

I've hear good comments about them. Pure motor sports is a great company to do business with too. Check out there kits. I would suggest buying a spring/shock combo kit, as they are designed for each other (best ride handling characterstics).

Well im getting koni coilovers the end of this month for $895 shipped. The front are height and damping adjustable, the rears are only height adjustable. If you are interested see this site and give them a call, i found them on vwvotex a while back. linky mjm autohaus

thank you guys for your help, i have one last suspension question. How much lower is the sport suspension than the stock suspension, and can I put a sport suspension on my 96 a4 quattro? also, can you get the sport suspension for cheaper than just an aftermarket setup?
