need to know drive in time and not for a NEW car

i have an 96 audi a4 and i just deleted a code that made my check enige light come on how long is the drive in period for this so i can go to the emmissions place and run it

pull the neg. bat. cable over night, then put it back on in the morning. Let you car figur out what it is doing for a day or so and then take it in.
