Need some DIY guidance in NOVA
Friends,
the 60k service on my A4 is coming up and I was wondering if this could be the time to jump into the DIY realm. Please note that I have never done anything before on a car and that is the reason I am seeking a Guru/expert in the NoVA region who can guide me/oversee my work (provide me tools ).
Anybody?

RE: Need some DIY guidance in NOVA
There are enough well explained DIY's in this forum to get most of the basic stuff done. You can also check audidiy.com for more. You will most definitely save a ton of cash in doing most of the work yourself even though the initial cost of tools is a setback. Just find a cheap mechanics set of tools, a jack and a set of jack standsand you should be able to do a lot with that.

what does the 60K service even entail?
spark plugs/ oil change/ oil filter/ air filter/ fuel filter (maybe)/ cabin filter (I would reccomend it)/ I can't see why you wouldn't be able to pull it off by urself....should be about 80-100$ in parts and about 2-3 hours worth of labor if you DIY
I would say that you will have no problems with everything listed above (besides the fuel filter(that may be a pain in the a$$))...
as far as tools go, if you don't have any, you are looking at about 30$ max.
well, good luck!
I remember when Audi of Santa Monica tried to charge me 900$ for a 90k check up, right after they already did my TB/water pump/and three new gaskets for 2k!
