Default Neuspeed short shifter installed:

This might be my best mod yet. What a difference this makes. The shifts are so short and precise, it's amazing! I highly recommend this to everyone. This is the way the car should have come from the factory.

Cost: $169.95
Vender: Greedspeed.com
Difficulty: 4 out of 10

The install: Now this was a major pain in the butt. Very tedious work, as there are a lot of little bolts/washers that have the potential to fall into no man's land. I had some problems with not being able to shift into reverse. I found that you have to center the shifter to the right just a tad then bolt the linkages down. It took me several tries to get it just right. Install took me 2 hours or so. The instructions provided were not very thorough. I found this tutorial from AMS to be much better.

The pictures:

And the finished product:

Ah, sounds like fun Nice to hear some educated feedback about the neuspeed... my buddy tried finding info from the vortex... and it was pretty rediculous. Getting them to say more than "IT ROCKS" was like pulling teeth.

I love you guys! haha

I think it's actually perfect for daily driving. The stock shifter's throw is just too long for my tastes. I will say that since the shifter is shorter, it takes a little more effort to row the shifter though.

After driving a Jeep stick and a couple of trucks, the stock Audi shifter seems like a short shift to me.... I guess I need to get out more. Actually yesterday when my friend came over for a very quick ride around the block, he thought I had a short shifter.

I figure after I get more and more used to my car, I will probably buy a shortshifter. Install looks clean and it is nice to see some pics of the process and your thoughts of the shifter.
