Never go to the dealer, EVER. They are stupid.
My car has been in limp mode for two weeks now, and I haven't been able to tell why. So finally I took it to the dealer, and they told me that they couldn't communicate with the ecu and didn't know why. They were going to just start working on it by trial and error for $70 an hour untill they figured it out. So I brought it home, and decided to see if I could fix it. After checking the resistance on multiple sensors, I said to my self, "hey maybe it's a fuse". Well that's what it was, no more limp mode, all better. The dealership wanted to charge me a possible endless amount, WHEN ALL IT WAS IS A BLOWN FUSE. Stupid dealer. So before you take it in, take one last minute to check everything.
A good way to find a local euro mechanic is to call a used car dealer. Well not just any used car dealer, but one that specializes in higher end used cars. They usually don't have their own shop and have something set up with a mechanic to fix all of their cars. Call them ask who they use. The mechanic that I use deals with one high end shop in town - last time I went over there he had six b6's sitting outside his shop just to get inspected.
Glad to hear you found the problem, must have felt like a huge weight off your shoulders.

The ECU fuse, and the Diagnostic fuse. now no more limp mode, the cars runs fine.(besides my bad turbo, but that's a different story) Yes I'm a dumba$$ and should have checked the fusesearlier, but I'm not a audi certified technician, I'm allowed to be a dumba$$, the dealership has no excuse.

Glad to hear you gotthis fixed, now you can use that vag-com! (I thought I remember you saying you had one - maybe I am wrong)
Anyway, another classic example of dealer incompetency.
Quick question since its along the same lines. What does the engine timing fuse do? I can't imagine that my timing goes to sh*t if that fuse blows. I hope not, because it was blown lol.
The engine management fuse is located in the fuse pack on the driver's side, the main ecm fuse is next to the ecm, but if that blows your engine won't do anything but just crank.
