Default New "things" added to my a4... pics up

Hey everyone, first and foremost i would like to thank everyone on the forum for there thoughts, ideas and suggestions with everything to do with Audi. I purchased my '98 Audi A4 1.8t last year (august '04) and have loved it ever since.... finally i've decided to make some modifications to the car.... i've already shown pics of the exterior and pics of the "audio system" in a previous thread (i'll post the pics in this thread tomorrow/friday). In the last two weeks, i've purchased the Kamei grill, projector headlights, clear corners and installed the chipped it (APR). Well i'm chipping the car tomorrow, Thurs June 16/05. i'm leaving my car at the shop around 3:30 and will pick it up after work, around 1130pm. The drive home will hopefully be more enjoyable

I'm really excited about the chipping. Everyone advocates that the first upgrade to the turbo should be a chip. so finally i've done so.

I'll let everyone know tomorrow night/friday morning (depending on how tired i am) with my thoughts after the chipping. i'll also take pics of my car.

Thanks again everyone for the help and your expertise.

reiterating bentframe's point, make sure you get a new dv.

you can either go for the 710n from your dealership for about 35 bucks or you can go with a higher end aluminum dv from bailey or forge for around $100-130.

dv is neccessary when you chip ur b5, stock cant handle extra boost. you'll be held back otherwise. have fun

newbie question - what is the stock DV of the TT? Will it be enough for a chipped 1.8T? TIA!

The TT comes with the 710N. This DV looks identical to the one on your A4 but has a 14lbs. spring rate as opposed to 8lbs. It is sufficient for a chipped A4 and it costs a ot less than an aluminum one.

how quickly would i need the 710n dv? i called my mechanic but got his answering machine.... i have to leave my car today at 3:30 but i wont see him til i pick up the car tonight at 1130. now, i left him a vm message, if he doesnt get it can i still drive the car and still feel the improved power? or will it be reduced due to the difference in the power handling each are capable of?

how quickly do i need to get it? can i install them myself?

thanks everyone.

pics will be taken tomorrow morning, hopefully with better weather (it's raining outside)
