Hi all, im new to the audi world and lookin forward in having some fun with one... curently Im lookin into buying my buddys 97 A4 2.8, its in mint condition body wise (cracked window), got 160,000 km,hes babied the car since he bought it new. but he was telling me how ever since he installed his jvc mp3 deck the battery power will die after he lets the car sit for a couple days, and that the alarm goes off for no aparent reason. I was wondering if you guys could help me find out what is causeing these 2 problems and what might solve the problems before i end up buying an electrical nightmare. all electrical is workin perfect in the car except those 2 problems.
its only when the car sits for a couple of days, when he drives daily it doenst seem to drain power.

I don't know but since this happen after the mp3 player was installed maybe try to disconnect the player for couple of days and if the battery die. For the alarm, what brand is it? Maybe you just need to lower the sensitivety.

 

Well my guess is that it is just the battery is getting worn out and won't hold its charge for that long...As for the alarm, when the battery is almost going to die the car's security system sets itself off. Tell him to replace the battery and im sure it will fix both problems.
